Blue Ribbon

Blue Ribbon is an early-mid season variety released primarily for the high quality, hand harvesting, fresh market. Its most notable attributes are high yield and excellent taste of very firm, large berries when the plant is mature. Blue Ribbon’s fruit has impressive post-harvest shelf life. Planting is recommended in the North of Spain and Portugal and other regions with mild winters. Blue Ribbon’s plant habit is very bushy and spreading. The management improves a lot with trellising and pruning to encourage upright growth. This variety is only somewhat cold-hardy so we recommend planting in regions with winter temperatures not colder than -15°C.
